As it always happens, a few days before general conference someone online casts the bait and asks for predictions regarding the upcoming sessions. This conference time was no different.
While general conference does have a slightly different hype factor since temples are no longer announced during the conference, there is still a buzz in the area, especially since the grounds around the temple and the conference center are now fully open for the first time in many years.
Zions Campfire, an account on X, asked the question and here are some of the most interesting responses.
- The church will launch an organ/piano training program to address the lack of players in many wards around the world
- Copious consumption of white monster leads to it being added to the word of wisdom, along with Fiiz and Crumbl cookies
- (This of course will not happen, and my response online to this suggestion was “…and every ward gets free diabetes kits delivered to the bishops’ homes along with the CFM manuals.)
- The church will call missionaries to serve in the temple full time and live in apartments next to the temple
- Young Men Presidency returns
- Not a prediction but Luke Nichols speaks in general conference (For those who don’t know, Luke Nichols is the created of the ultra-popular “The Outdoor Boys” YouTube channel where he takes his family on adventures in the wild, from fishing, to hunting, to camping.)
- Another Luke Nichols prediction – Brother Luke Nichols announces the return of a YM Scouting program

- Every member gets assigned to learn Chinese, Arabic, or Hindi. Members get called to learn from online and in person classes
- President Oaks will announce a major real estate purchase in Independence, Missouri by the LDS Church from the Community of Christ and Church of Christ
- Variable mission terms for youth, like seniors. Can’t serve a full 2 years? The Lord will accept 6 months, 1 year, 18 months, etc.
- A greater emphasis on family names at the temple. Front desks at the temple will install kiosks to easily print indexed family names from a mobile phone
- They are going to wheel out the golden plates and the translation of the sealed section will be in our scripture app
- CES is disbanded. Local members in Utah are told to “lengthen their stride” and teach seminary
- Primary programs will be every quarter instead of once a year
- Kitchens in the church can be used to COOK the food
- Elders who return from a mission that have no immediate prospects for marriage and have not reached the missionary cutoff age can opt to serve a second mission. More realistic prediction: Sisters can serve 24 months just like the elders
- 12 apostles for each continent
Latter-day Truth on X also made a post asking: “What General Conference predictions do you have? *Do 1 real prediction and 1 unhinged prediction*.” Here are some of the responses he received, and some are pretty unhinged:
- (1) Family proclamation is canonized; and (2) a partnership with space x is announced and we plan to build a permanent new HQ on the moon
- Real: Missionaries can’t use social media until they are in their physical mission. Unhinged: Coffee and green tea are allowed on days ending in Y.
- 1. We’ll be called to repentance 2. Someone will think they are clever and will immediately start mansplaining the Apostles/1st Presidency on X
- More hymns to be added to the new hymn book/new scouting program for young men. Due to declining birth rates, polygamy is gonna make a comeback, but only for willing to pay 30 percent in tithing
- 1. Energy drinks get added to the Worx of Wisfom as a prohibited substance. 2. New young men’s program is announced.
- 1- a new MTC is announced 2- women are given enough priesthood to run meetings and take over moving responsibilities. Men get to have the soft chairs and just check in on brethren
- 1. Messages of hope, love, peace making with an added emphasis on physical/spiritual preparation. 2. Community of Christ turns over the auditorium to LDS or We turn over our priesthood keys to Jesus Christ by the show of hands over the pulpit.
- Realistic: Guidance against sports betting and gambling. (Ads for those are SO COMMON that compared to the frequency we talk about them I’m not sure recent converts would be aware of the church’s stance.) Unrealistic: We return to the 3 hour block.
- 1) no major changes 2) in line with Pres Nelson’s emphasis on using the full name of the church, Pres oaks announces that the Lord wants us to / says it’s acceptable to wear a crucifix if we want to let others outwardly know we are followers of Jesus
- “Go to the temple, if you’re not worthy, get worthy.” “The rapture was last week, you guys are the ones left behind.”
- Real: more buildings and purchases in Missouri. Unhinged: they opened the portal and we can talk to our dead.
- R – A point blank, over the pulpit condemnation of elective abortion. The exceptions remain in place, but it is reiterated that they are only to be invoked after consultation with medical specialists, spiritual leaders, and prayerful consideration. U – Total caffeine ban.
- It will be stated the Moroni has returned and the work of translating the rest of the sealed portion of the golden plates has commenced. The Book of Mormon (part II) Another, Another Testament of Jesus Christ.
- 1- Sisters have option of serving 24 month mission. 2-General Conference is shortened to only 2 sessions on Sunday but is now held quarterly.
- 1. Everyone will mention Jesus 2. President Oaks will announce that The Book of Mormon movie is now added to the canon.
- Real: A fragrance-free policy is announced for all church buildings. “Unscented” is the way to show love to our fellow saints, so all can safely worship together. Unhinged: Home-centered, church-supported private education for children and youth in the USA and Canada to start.
- 1) Details on how all wards/stakes will participate in the Salt Lake Temple dedication remotely which will require a current temple recommend 2) New program announced encouraging U.S. families to sponsor families in need of housing and residency in the US
- Real: Everyone will be encouraged to take 3 family names to the temple by April’s General Conference Needed, but not likely: Avoiding Weight loss injections, unless approved by a doctor and the bishop, will be added to The Word of Wisdom
- Linger-Longer presidency organization announced. Paper Sacrament cups made mandatory.
- (R) Speech about how trying to bring protests into church causes spiritual death – similar to Uzzah (U) China/India area will be opening, so to have enough missionaries to meet demands, all Elders/Sisters will have the option to extend for another 18/24 months.
- Real: Be a Peacemakers Unhinged: Location of Kolob revealed
- 1. Numerous talks and guidance on prepping… 2. The re-establishment of the Nauvoo Leagion and each stake or mission will form a platoon or regiment size militia!
- – Get your food storage in order. – Going back to the old For Strength of Youth pamphlet because we couldn’t handle the freedom.
- Kids as young as 8 are permitted to do temple baptisms. (Elder Soares visited my stake in 2025 and told us in a meeting that they had talked about it) They announce they’ve purchased the temple lot in Independence, Missouri
While these predictions are always fun, one thing I will be listening for are warnings from our prophets. We receive invitations each conference, but I’ll be interesting to see if the prophets feel a need to issue any warnings.
When Alma visited the people of Ammonihah, he first preached the word of God to them but was then cast out. He was then visited by an angel and was told to “…preach unto them. Yea, say unto them, except they repent the Lord God will destroy them.”
Many people think the return of the Savior is close, but the language of the prophets regarding invitations vs warnings of destruction is a great indicator of how close things are, or where our hearts are as a people.
We hope you have a wonderful time this general conference weekend. Let us know what you are most looking forward to, or if you have any predictions to add!

Real – We will be reminded to “Think Celestial”! Unhinged – Retired members will only have to pay 8% tithing.
This was a very entertaining compilation. Funny to see what people are thinking about. Can’t wait for another entirely Christ-centered Conference pointing us to Him unreservedly and without any mind-blowing distractions!
I am really glad that you have posted this article. Now I do not see the need to actually hear the conference sessions. Everything is condensed here.
Nice!
You’re not wrong. I think it’s fun. Not everyone does. :)
Pure dumb speculation. Just dumb
I hope they assign Scottish Gaelic for members to learn. My ancestors were Gaelic speaking.
