Before I share a few interesting predictions regarding temple announcements and other General Conference predictions, I wanted to share the information that the First Presidency released regarding conference.
The conference event notice from the Church states, “The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that He lives and that God loves, hears and speaks to His children. His personalized guidance and inspiration may be experienced through the counsel of living prophets, apostles and leaders … .
“All are welcome and invited to hear messages of hope, peace and the joy of eternal life made possible through the atoning sacrifice and Resurrection of Jesus Christ during the annual broadcast of general conference.”
The global broadcast, which originates from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, consists of five unique 2-hour sessions:
Saturday, April 5
Morning session: 10 a.m. to noon*
Afternoon session: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Evening session: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 6
Morning session: 10 a.m. to noon
Afternoon session: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
*Times listed are Mountain Daylight Time (MDT)
All conference sessions will be streamed live on the broadcasts page of ChurchofJesusChrist.org in 80 languages. Participants may also watch and listen on the General Conference YouTube channel in 14 languages, the Gospel Stream app in 11 languages, Gospel Library in 80 languages, and other radio, television, satellite and digital channels.
Following the broadcast, the messages will be available in text, audio and video formats on multiple channels in up to 98 languages for on-demand viewing and studying. Could It Be?
- Artificial sugar added to the word of wisdom.
- President Nelson announces that 70 times 7 applies not just to forgiveness. He announces 490 new temples, 58 new Quorums of the 70 with 70 seventies each, for a total of 4090 new general authorities called and sustained. Also, tithing can be paid in crypto.
- Camera crews in church for the new reality show: Star Wards.
- Pres. Nelson will take temple recommends away from anyone who hoots and hollers during the temple announcements.
- Church membership council to be held for anyone who does the, “I hate public speaking” joke at the beginning of their talk. Or “I was divinely dragged up here” when giving their testimony.
- 6 hour church. Each sacrament meeting will be 2.5 hours, 75% of which is a single talk from a stake high councilman.
- Not a rumor but a wish. Now that we own Joseph Smith’s translation of the Bible manuscripts, I hope the church publishes their own Bible that includes all the corrections.
- Canonization of the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible proposed for acceptance by the Church. Missionaries will begin using A.I. tools to improve gospel teaching and contacting of interested individuals. 15+ new temple announcements; more than half are in Africa and SE Asia.
- Saturday morning session we are being called back to Missouri. Those who don’t listen won’t know about it.
- They’ve been testing out one hour church at a stake near me. We’ve heard it’s one speaker in sacrament meeting and then classes. Seems like not enough time for class and sacrament meeting to me. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of it.
- A second MTC in the U.S.
- Ward survivor – we vote out a family once a quarter on fast Sunday. You might laugh at that – but you also have your entire list for the first 3 votes set up. Don’t you?
- Seminary for elementary and middle schoolers.
- Saudi Arabian Temple No more Sunday church The lost 116 pages.
- All stake centers will serve as temples Tuesday-Friday.
- I’m still gunning for CES high schools.
- The Church will show pictures of the Liahona.
- Salem Utah and Riverton Utah Temples.
- Doctrine and Covenants Section 139 to be read and voted on by the church as part of the canon.
- Southern Virginia University gets bought by the church and becomes BYU Virginia.
- I’ve heard that if when giving a talk if you say “for those of you who don’t know me” you will continue to give talks each week until you quit saying it. Then everybody should know you by that time.
- 5th Sundays will be at home worship Sundays. Not happening, but I would love it. Saw real benefits with my family with the home church during Covid.
- Drive thrus on new temple constructions for a quicker session.

- BYU Texas campus announced.

- Sealed parts of the Book of Mormon published in 5 languages available on the church website.
- Increased emphasis on taking the Gospel to the Jewish People. Inspired programs, missions, specific missionary discussions, Hebrew language at MTC, Jerusalem temple.
- A new commandment, akin to the word of wisdom, but for technology, forbidding the use of social media.
- Quorum of 12 apostles will increase to 13.
- Fast and testimony meeting will go away.
Twenty Temple Predictions
Chris Knudsen runs some pretty neat data analysis on temples and I wanted to include his predictions, that are based on real data such as membership and stakes and distance from other temples.
Here are his guesses for 20 cities that could be announced for new temples:
- Spanish Fork Utah
- Atlanta Georgia
- Temecula California
- Little Rock Arkansas
- Posa Rica Mexico
- Tacna Peru
- Sorocaba Brazil
- Neuquen Argentina
- Resistencia Argentina
- Pelotas Brazil
- Machala Ecuador
- Saltillo Mexico
- Rivera Uruguay
- Prague Czechia
- Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire
- Port Harcourt Nigeria
- Bo Sierra Leon
- Lome Togo
- Urdenta Philippines
- Taichung Taiwan
This chart below lists each of those temple predictions and how many stakes would be assigned to that temple and how far they are to the nearest temple.

Make General Conference Your Top Priority #AllTenHours
I would encourage you to make watching every session of General Conference your top priority. I understand there may be some situations where this is not possible, but I would encourage everyone else to watch all ten hours.
My friend Priscilla at She Shares Goodness on Instagram put together some great slides that you should check out > 7 Questions to Think About and Take to General Conference
What are you hearing? Are there any General Conferences predictions that you have hear that you hope come true?!

Instead of saying “I’m serving in Young Women’s” say “I’m serving with the Young Women”.
Payton to Spanish Fork is about 8 miles, probably less. They already have Payson, Provo, Provo city, Orem, plus several other being built. No need.
There is a temple just dedicated last March in Urdaneta, Philippines. We hope there will be many more announced for the faithful Filipino Saints.
Happy April Fools to all of this.
@Ben Arkell, “Young Women”. For example, “I’m going to Young Women now.” Young Women is the name of the organization, just like Relief Society, so unless you’re using it possessively, no “‘s”. Ex)”Our Relief Society’s/ Young Women’s president is awesome!” I think it happens because it’s common to say “The Young Women’s organization”, which you could consider correct; the organization belongs to the Young Women. So people just shorten it to, “Young Women’s”. However, it would be more correct to just say “the Young Women Organization” since “Young Women” is the name/title/brand. Ex) “Young Women Camp” is the way it’s commonly phrased. Like “Relief Society Activity”. No possessive ” ‘s” used.
Southern Virginia University tuition is thru the roof. Investors won’t give up those profits for a Church endorsement.
I enjoyed your post. Got a kick out of the predictions!
I would hope the Church would make articles like this- that make light of sacred things- disavowed and discouraged in Church related publications. I know some might agree with light-mindness but I don’t and I find it offensive when talking about religious practices and temples.
@Ben Arkell, Young Women is the correct name of the organization. Women is already plural for woman. Using an ‘s shows possession, such as Young Women’s classroom. In conference I have noticed the leadership says Young Women, such as president of the Young Women. Also in the handbook the term, Young Women, is used for the organization.
@Ben Arkell, Agreed 👍🏻 Ours is like ‘open mike personal story meeting’
LOL “ward survivor” 🤣🤣
“Forbidding social media” Oh yes please, bring it on! 🙌😂
Urdaneta, Philippines seems to already have a temple. Is there another city of the same name?
I don’t have time to look up all the others, but has anyone checked?
Urdaneta already has a temole
@Ben Arkell, Young Women. Women is already plural, woman is singular. In all cases (’s ) shows possession. Listen conference the leadership uses Young Women as the title for the organization.
What is the correct term??
Thanks for the info!
I could see the fast and testimony meeting being more realistic than a joke. Sometimes I wonder if there would be a better way to use the time in that meeting. At other times, it’s great.
I’m always interested in reading people’s General Conference “predictions”. Publication of the sealed portion of the BofM? I wish! But many of this latest batch are just jokes. I mean, no more Fast and Testimony meeting, the Quorum of the 12 will increase to 13, six hour Church, drive-thru temples? Come on.
On my opinion a Temple in Santa Maria – RS is more useful than one in Pelotas.
The members fron Rivera – Uruguai can be part of the Santa Maria Temple district.
Add anyone continuing to use the term “Young Women’s” pays additional percentage of tithing until the practice stops.
The closest temple to Temecula, CA is the Newport Beach temple that is 41 miles away. The info on your chart is incorrect.
