Ben Jiles shared the following account of an event pertaining to the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ that most are not aware of. He writes:
In 1795, a 22-year-old young man named Benjamin Benson from New York state anxiously contemplated and prayed about how the Indians got to America.
He needed an answer from God, since he believed the Bible and the accounts of progeny and geography from Adam and Eve to Noah. Conventional science could not answer this question sufficiently.
In response to these pleadings, God opened a vision to Benjamin and sent him an angelic escort to answer the question. Benjamin recalled sitting on a horse while the angel floated beside him. The angel led Benjamin to a hill and said, “Wait here.”
Then the angel left Benjamin, ascended the hill, and returned with a book in hand. Benjamin asked, “What book is that?” The angel replied, “It is a bible. A bible, the word of God, a record of a people that came from Jerusalem, the forefathers of these Indians, and it also contains a record of a people that came from the Tower of Babel at the time the Lord confounded the language and scattered the people into all the world, and it is the Book Ether.”
Benjamin’s heart was immediately full and he asked, “May I have the book?” The angel answered, “It is not the Lord’s time yet. But it shall come and you shall see it.” Then the angel said, “Look!” and Benjamin saw a man standing in the distance.
The angel explained, “There is the Man that the Lord hath appointed and he is not yet born.” Benjamin later moved to Indiana in 1820 and found the Church and Joseph in 1837 and he was promptly baptized.
He recounted the vision to Joseph and Joseph replied that Benjamin was free to publish it and attach Joseph’s name to it.

S@April, dear april from steven weaver of croydon england i have decided to take your advice and have the the misssionaries visit me and to become baptized in the church of jesus christ of latter day saints as time moves on even more evidence becomes available in support of the book of mormon i did notice that some people have left the church of jesus christ of latter day saints because they no longer believe joseph smith was a true prophet or that the book of mormon was true but despite this the church still continues to grow over 17 million worldwide i think the reason why some people left is because they listen to far to many people who are giving false information about the church of jesus christ of latter day saints these are people outside of the faith including some archaeologists who have not studied properly the latter day saints faith or even know what evidence even they have found as they have failed to find it themselves not making them very good archaeologists if you know people who might think of leaving show them where the names of the people in the book of mormon have been attested in ancient hebrew inscriptions even generative artificial intelligence overview confirms the names have been attested in hebrew which makes the book of mormon very authentic tell them to go to google and type book of mormon names attested however you would be interested to know people are leaving the roman catholic church in fact a lot steve
@steven weaver, I enjoyed reading your comment. I enjoyed this account too. Why not have the missionaries visit now? It’s not a lot of visits. You’re missing out on having the gift of the holy ghost with you constantly. Once you are baptized you can be confirmed with the gift of the comforter, the holy ghost, to be with you always. It’s worth thinking about. It’s an unparalleled gift for these tumultuous times.
steven weaver croydon england this is an amazing testimony of benjamin benson of how he was visited by an angel of god while on his horse and told of the book of mormon before even joseph smith the prophet of god came face to face with god and his son jesus christ and an angel showed him where the gold plates were buried in the earth and upon translation was known as the book of mormon another testament of jesus christ this is further proof that not only was joseph smith a true prophet but that the book of mormon is true this is also proven by the fact many of the names now in the book of mormon not found in holy bibles have now been attested in hebrew inscriptions by scholars i have not been baptized into any religion but in 7 months time i will be retiring from work and have plenty of time to do things i will then decide to have the mormon missionaries call at my home and then be baptized at the church of jesus christ of latter day saints this is the true faith although the catholic church claim to be the true church their is no mention of popes and cardinals in the bible or book of mormon when god spoke he spoke through the prophets not popes or cardinals these offices of the vatican do not exist in the holy scriptures just like the trinity does not exist in the scriptures
