I wanted to start with some information on how to access October 2024’s General Conference and then include a few interesting predictions regarding temple announcements and other things.
“All are welcome and invited to hear messages about the hope, peace, and eternal life made possible because of Jesus Christ during the annual broadcast of general conference on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, 2024.
“General conference provides an opportunity to receive personal revelation as general Church leaders give counsel and direction from the Lord. We encourage all to listen to, study, ponder, and apply the counsel and direction given,” stated the First Presidency of the Church (letter to congregation leaders, September 5, 2024).
All conference sessions will be streamed live on the live broadcasts page of ChurchofJesusChrist.org in more than 70 languages. You can also watch and listen on the General Conference YouTube channel; Gospel Stream app, Gospel Library; and other radio, television, satellite and digital channels.”
LDS365 shared some interesting tidbits on an X post:
This #GeneralConference marks several anniversaries:
- * 100th anniversary of broadcasting on radio
- * 75th of broadcasting on TV
- * 25th of live broadcast via the internet
Wouldn’t It Be Neat
As I was scouring the internet for some interesting General Conference predictions, I came across a few of the following:
An additional Quorum of the Twelve Apostles organized. I’ve mentioned this before, and I personally think it would be neat. There is precedent, when Christ called apostles in the old and new world.
An announcement about an expanded Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible project with unpublished revelations, once completed to become official Bible of the church. This would be amazing. The Joseph Smith Translation truly is inspired and so many don’t currently know how to access it.
One member on the internet suggested that we will be invited to say “House of the Lord” instead of temple, and that would be a specific invitation in conference. I would be all for it!
Divine Code shared her wish list of General Conference items > A wish list
• preparedness – ye shall not fear
• calling on heavenly powers
• hard lines drawn on doctrines
• calling out a few false doctrines
• reveal new doctrine / vision
• powerful quotes from Joseph Smith
• power of true mega prayer and personal revelation
• a miracle or two
• temple at Adam-ondi-Ahman
Five “Did You Know” Facts
Chris Knudsen shared some amazing facts on X last month that I wanted to share with a larger audience. Credit to Chris and thanks for his expertise!
- Did you know there is only one country left in the world without a temple that has more than 10,000 members? -Uganda (20k) (Technically, Malaysia has 10k but still does not have a Stake, so, you can’t put a temple there.)
- Did you know there are only three states left in the U.S. without a temple with over 20,000 members? -New Jersey (34k) -Wisconsin (27k) -Mississippi (22k)
- Did you know that outside the U.S. there are only 7 cities left in the world that don’t have a temple, that have 4 Stakes or more? -Santa Ana, El Salvador (11 stakes) -Angeles, Philippines (9) -Santiago de la Caballero, Dominican Republic (7) -Port Harcourt, Nigeria (7) -Posa Rica, Mexico (5) -Sorocaba, Brazil (4) -Taichung, Taiwan (4)
- Did you know that the Metropolitan area with the highest number of stakes per temple is Mesa? Between the Mesa and Gilbert temples there are 58 stakes. So, Mesa is in big need of a third temple for that area.
- Bonus fact: Did you know that there are only three countries left in Europe that don’t have a temple, but have at least one stake? -Ireland (I would guess Dublin) -Albania (Trana) -The Czech Republic (Prague)
Twenty Temple Predictions
Chris Knudsen runs some pretty neat data analysis on temples and I wanted to include his predictions, that are based on real data such as membership and stakes and distance from other temples.
Here are his guesses for 20 cities that could be announced for new temples:
1. Santa Ana, El Salvador
2. Angeles, Philippines
3. Santiago, Dominican Republic
4. Port Harcourt, Nigeria
5. Posa Rica, Mexico
6. Sorocaba, Brazil
7. Tacna, Peru
8. East Brunswick, New Jersey
9. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
10. Kampala, Uganda
11. Kingston, Jamaica
12. Dublin, Ireland
13. Queen Creek, Arizona
14. Atlanta (South), Georgia
15. Murray/Holladay, Utah
16. Spanish Fork/Springville, Utah
17. Cottonwood Heights/Midvale, Utah
18. Price, Utah
19. Little Rock, Arkansas
20. Maputo, Mozambique
I would love to see one in Price, Utah as that would cut my daughter’s travel in half to make it to the temple. I’ve also thought that a temple in Spanish Fork makes a lot of sense. I of course would love to see a temple in all of these other areas around the world that truly need one!
What are you hearing? Are there any General Conferences predictions that you have hear that you hope come true!
Make General Conference Your Top Priority #AllTenHours
I would encourage you to make watching every session of General Conference your top priority. I understand there may be some situations where this is not possible, but I would encourage everyone else to watch all ten hours.
My friend Priscilla at She Shares Goodness on Instagram put together some great slides that you should check out > 7 Questions to Think About and Take to General Conference

How about that? A temple is coming to Price!!!
Me too!
I’m so glad your wish for a temple in Price has been granted!!
Oops. I misread. “Over 20,000 members”. Sorry. Please delete my comment
Another 2 Temples in the SL area??? How about Santa Barbara, CA OR San Louis Obispo, CA? Temple attendance is down in Los Angeles because the normal heavy traffic means about 6 hours car time. I do realize other people have to make long bus rides or once in a lifetime trips. I have great sympathy for them. I don’t have great sympathy for our brothers and sisters who live in or close to SLC. I love them, but give me a break!
Temple for Tyler TX (E. Texas)
One thing that still needs to happen before the Second Coming is the construction of the temple in Jackson County, Missouri, it’s surprising Jackson County isn’t on the list of predictions; it wouldn’t be surprising if the Church in the near future announces plans around conference time to assist the Jews in building their temple.
I also am one of the many praying for (and working toward) a temple in Price!! The canyons are pretty deadly any way you go to get to a temple. It’s so fun to know your daughter must live in Emery county as well :)

Wow, this was fun and interesting to read 📚 😀 👍🏽 about.
