What I Love
Lots, but to keep it short, I’ll go with—my wife and kids go with me. – Nevadad
The knowledge that the church is not only true, but also living. Having modern day revelation and prophets to help us “see around corners” in this confused and sin-sick world is vital. While I don’t understand everything, I have faith in revelation, and it keeps me grounded. – Ryker
Spiritual: having a source for truth. Non spiritual: a built in community wherever you go. – Laura
How my covenants bind me to Christ. Also, it has the best scriptures. Also, the gift of the Holy Ghost and the discernment that comes with it. Also prophets, Temple sealings, beautiful temples, a burden lifted, the gift of Eternal Life. The fact that it is the Savior’s Church. – All is not well in Zion
Understanding the Atonement, endowment of power in the temple, blessings of the garment. – #HearHim
Living ordinances that bring me to Christ. Priesthood authority. Living prophets. Continuing revelation. Open windows of heaven. Another Testament of Jesus Christ. – Viking Saint
Real joy. Through personal and career setbacks and suffering, life is often hard. But in the testimony of Christ and His church I have been blessed again and again with peace and joy. – Robbie Ty McMahon
Having the gift of the Holy Ghost. since middle school I’ve felt depressingly alone pretty much 24/7. but, when I live so that I can hear the Holy Ghost, that loneliness isn’t crushing like it used to be. I feel my Savior’s love for me instead, and if I’m having a crying kind of day I can go to the temple or spend a while praying, and the worst of the sadness gets taken away so it becomes bearable or disappears entirely. because of the Holy Ghost’s companionship, I am given peace even when I can’t find it on my own. – Leia
The power that comes from my covenants. They bind me to Christ and promise me an increased measure of the Holy Ghost in my life. I can receive guidance, peace, inspiration, and power to change at all times. This blessing of the Holy Ghost bind me to Christ and give me all I need. – Joshwa
Besides the spiritual stuff which is top of mind, the attitude of service to others has been a huge blessing in raising boys. – Murph
A feeling of peace and safety that I’d not felt in any other church I attended (belonged to). I have a spiritual family. Visiting the Temple, and doing ordinance work is a privilege and a blessing. – Sherry
Knowing that death is but a short season. – Reigning Judges
The priceless peace I feel in knowing it’s true and that I’m right where I am meant to be. The joy of having the Holy Ghost with me at all times – Lavinia
One of the best things is knowing I’m not alone in my struggles and endeavors. We are all human beings doing the best we can! Forgiveness “of” or forgiveness “for” is a powerful message and practiced often at church and among the congregation, sometimes over and over and over! – Magrit Harris
Knowing that prophets can see sound corners, change things up at any time, and my fellow saints will just bury their heads in the sand and not give it a second thought. – Tank
Everything about it has the power to make me the best I can be and the added strength that comes with living close to the Lord: covenants/temple, service opportunities, the Holy Ghost, and the authority. – Ned
The continuing Restoration, living prophets, The Book of Mormon, my baptismal and temple covenants, and the MUSIC! And, of course, having a basketball court inside of EVERY church building! – Jeff
The peace that comes with keeping its teachings. I have found no more peace in anything or anyone as I have in this church. – Emmett
Being told by God that this is the Restored Gospel of Jesus. Having the Holy Ghost as my companion. Being able to take sacrament. Access to the temple. – Jezebel
Not having to guess about what is right and wrong in the world and how I should raise my kids. – Seth
A tight community that helps me and my family and gives all of us daily opportunities to serve my neighbors. That, and the daily boost from reading the Book of Mormon. – Shaun
Peace, purpose, and promises fulfilled. Faith, friends, and family forever. – Matty
I love the regimen. I’m a balanced guy. Love to serve but also, doing for myself. Love to follow HIS teachings but also, inspiring on my own decisions that do good. My Church membership is sacred to me just as my body and soul are sacred. I love being active! – Edmund
Gives me clarity and perspective about what’s really important about life. – Joshua
There’s a lot but recently I’ve realized how much I enjoy sacrament meeting. That wasn’t always the case, in fact the opposite. But I now love that hour of putting ALL my troubles aside and being with others seeking that hour of peace and inspiration. I really look forward to it. – Coach Speak
How much it demands I forget myself and serve my church community. From youth leader to primary to nursery and everything, I have to learn to forget myself and serve those depending on me. – Ja
My favorite thing about being active in our Church ,(LDS) is that burning I get in my chest and the stinging I get in my eyes when I hear something that inspires me about Jesus Christ. – Coral
Blessings of Church Participation
“By helping us to know each other and be known, church participation acts as an antidote to the sometimes isolating, angry, and divisive environments we live in. In other words, while the world sometimes divides us, church unites us. The relationships we develop, the unity we experience, the comforting Spirit that comes to us all as we worship together with fellow Saints—all contribute to making church a community that deeply blesses all of us.” – Kate Holbrook
