President Nelson Gave You a Priesthood Blessing During General Conference

President Nelson Gave You a Priesthood Blessing During General Conference

At the close of the Sunday Morning Session of October’s General Conference, President Nelson closed his masterful talk about overcoming the world by leaving a blessing upon the membership of the Church.

Because of the priesthood keys which he holds, he has the power and authority to bless in such a way. As President Nelson was pronouncing the words of blessing, I was able to imagine that his hands were upon my head and he was just speaking to me.

It was a very sacred experience for me personally, and I’m sure many others felt something similar.

The beautiful thing about it, is that President Nelson was extending this blessing to every member of the Church, and every person in the world.

These are the words that President Nelson said:

With the power of the holy apostleship vested in me, I bless you in your quest to overcome this world. I bless you to increase your faith in Jesus Christ and learn better how to draw upon His power. I bless you to be able to discern truth from error. I bless you to care more about the things of God than the things of this world. I bless you to see the needs of those around you and strengthen those you love. Because Jesus Christ overcame this world, you can to!

What a beautiful, and much needed, blessing that our dear prophet gave us.

President Nelson’s Blessing

To highlight these blessings, let me list them below:

  1. I bless you in your quest to overcome the world
  2. I bless you to increase your faith in Jesus Christ
  3. I bless you to learn how to better draw upon Christ’s power
  4. I bless you to be able to discern between truth and error
  5. I bless you to care more about the things of God than the things of this world
  6. I bless you to see the needs of those around you and strengthen those that you love

Priesthood keys, and the ability they give God’s chosen servants to bless us in His name is a wonderful gift that we enjoy in this Church.

I hope that each of you will spend some time thinking about this very personal blessing that you were given by a prophet of God, and that it will help you as you attempt to overcome the world and live a higher and holier way so that your life will be easier!

If this was the last time we ever hear from our dear prophet, Russell M. Nelson, it was certainly and powerful impactful way to leave his lasting blessing upon us.

I hate to admit that I had fallen asleep during a couple of the last speakers. I should have sat in a straight chair rather than the soft sofa. I was in a twilight sleep, hearing the voices but when it was announced that the Prophet was going to speak a very clear thought came into my mind! Sit up, wake up! The prophet is speaking snd it may be the last time you will hear him. I was immediately awake and listening! After he spoke I shared my thoughts with my husband snd he said, I wondered!

Thank you for sharing this. I feel this is a special priesthood blessing given to each of us and it has the power to sustain us as we strive to overcome the world as we exercise our faith and draw upon Christ's power.

I didn’t think I was the only one who felt like President Nelson was saying goodbye. That was the same impression I had. I felt the spirit so strong as I sat in tears watching/listening to the closing song, God Be With You Til We Meet Again. Some of the members of the choir were emotional too! I love this gospel!
