Our Friend Was Baptized And Her Husband Came!

Our Friend Was Baptized And Her Husband Came!

Editor’s note: Many are familiar with my daughter, Sara Arkell, also known as The Piano Gal. Sara has been called to serve in the New York Syracuse Mission. This is a series on her weekly letters that we will be posting on the site for those who wish to follow along with her mission. You can read her previous emails here.

What a joyful week it was!!!

One of our friends IS OFFICIALLY A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH!!!! She got baptized yesterday and I don’t think enough exclamation points can accurately depict how wonderful of a day it was. Wow wow wow. I absolutely love baptism days! It makes the mission so worth it and it’s so fulfilling to see someone enter the waters of baptism and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And her story is a miraculous one!

We met her only 5 weeks ago. From the very beginning, she was so into the gospel and loved every part of it. She took initiative with reading the scriptures on her own, she’s been to church every single week since the first Sunday we knew her, she connects with the members so well, she is just a GEM!!

During her baptism, I felt the Spirit so strongly. I KNOW without a doubt this is God’s work and this church is Christ’s Church back on the earth today. What an amazing blessing it is!

Her husband, came to her baptism, which was a total miracle. Up until two days before, he still wasn’t planning on going. He had actually gone down a rabbit hole of searching online things about our church and ran into some content that wasn’t saying positive things. It got him very skeptical. But because of fasting on his behalf and lots of prayer and the Spirit softening his heart, HE CAME and he seemed to really enjoy it!

Seeds were definitely planted and I don’t think he’s too far behind her. I can’t wait to see them get sealed together in the temple sometime in the future!

Anyways, it was a great day!! My heart was so full of love and gratitude to God for blessing me with the privilege of knowing her. To know her is to love her. She turned to me with tears in her eyes while we were waiting for the program to start and said “thanks for everything, I love you so much”. My heart melted! I’m so grateful I came on a mission!

Got to film a music video on Tuesday! I loved it so much!! I feel so in my element during video shoots. Excited for you all to watch/listen to it once it’s done! It’s one of my favorite songs & accurately depicts a lot of my feelings as a missionary. It’ll be good!!

LIFE IS GOOD. with this being baptized now, though, our teaching pool doesn’t have anyone who is progressing right now. We’re putting in 100% effort and we know God will lead us to those who are ready! If you need something to pray for this week, pray for the Lockport area! Miracles definitely still happen today! I know it!

Have such a joyful week!! Love y’all!
