One Of Our Friends Is Getting Baptized

Editor’s note: Many are familiar with my daughter, Sara Arkell, also known as The Piano Gal. Sara has been called to serve in the New York Syracuse Mission. This is a series on her weekly letters that we will be posting on the site for those who wish to follow along with her mission. You can read her previous emails here.

Another week in the books!! 🙌🏻

One of our friends committed to be baptized! YAY!!! Y’all she is seriously so incredible. We only met her on the 4th of this month and she already wants to be baptized! And she is super excited to go to the temple, too. She has been to church 3 weeks in a row which is an amazing streak!!! Her goal is for September 11th so we need all the prayers that we’ll be able to pull it off 🙂 I know God can work miracles with our faith!

We had a ward picnic on Saturday and it was a success! We had a good amount of people come out who usually don’t attend church. This activity couldn’t have come at a better time though. God knew what He was doing! Transfers are this week and my current companion is finishing up her mission so I’ve known this whole time that I’d be leading out this area after only being here for 6 weeks. It’s been a little stressful but this ward picnic gave me hope because I was able to have so many awesome conversations with members and gain their trust a little more!!

Bishop is so awesome as well. He brought his guitar so towards the end, we all gathered around singing songs and I was so uplifted! I felt comforted and knew I’d be okay to lead out this area & that God trusts me! It was a special moment 🙂

I found this quote during one of my personal studies this week & it is now one of my mottos! Sometimes in life, we may not really know how everything is going to work out & at times, that can be a bit stressful. But this really hit home! “My main goal was to follow what the Lord wanted me to do, and that goal was precious to me.” As long as we follow what God wants, I know that it will always turn out the way it needs to! Remember that quote! SO SO GOOD 🙌🏻

Got transfer news this morning! Sis Dustin is too-da-looing back home to Washington State because she finished her mission & I’m staying here in Lockport….training a brand new missionary!! I am nervous but super excited, too! It’ll be a fun adventure 🙂 Pray for me!

I love you all!! Thanks for all the support!
