Social Media Conference and Trusting In God’s Timing

Social Media Conference and Trusting In God’s Timing
Editor’s note: Many are familiar with my daughter, Sara Arkell, also known as The Piano Gal. Sara has been called to serve in the New York Syracuse Mission. This is a series on her weekly letters that we will be posting on the site for those who wish to follow along with her mission. You can read her previous emails here.
Hello hello!! This week was awesome!

For the 4th of July, we went to Applebee’s with our district! Then later, Sister Aston and I went to a parking garage and watched fireworks in the valley. There weren’t many but it was still good holidays are definitely odd on a mission.

Tuesday was such a fun day!! We got to go to President’s house on Tuesday for a social media conference with the team. We got together to celebrate how far we’ve come because 2 of the Elders are going home (RIP Elder Bender & Elder Huff), we got some training on different camera equipment, had lunch, and filmed a video together. It was so much fun!!

I love all those missionaries and it’s awesome to put our creativity and talents together. So grateful I’ve been able to use social media to spread the gospel on my mission! I also got to see Sister Thompson again!

My 10 month mark was on Wednesday  Holy cow. Double digits now! Time is a’flyin.

One of our friends was supposed to be getting baptized this upcoming Saturday (the 16th) but she didn’t come to church. Everything was fine until the day before church when her kids got incredibly sick and ended up in the hospital. Satan realllllyyy doesn’t want her to get baptized. We have to push her date back now which means there is a good chance I won’t be able to be here because transfers are next week. I’m trusting in God’s timing, though!

Everything always works out the way it needs to! Please pray that our friend will be able to be baptized. All the forces seem to be against her but I KNOW with prayer & faith, God will always win!!! Please PRAY SO HARD!

I read this scripture a couple weeks ago and it has become one of my favorites now 🙂 it’s Omni 1:26 – “And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved.”

I love the part about offering our whole souls unto Him! Our will is really the only thing that is truly ours to give. It will definitely be a lifelong pursuit but it’s the key to having peace and JOY .

Have the best week! I love you all so dearly!! Thank you for the amazing influences you’ve been in my life.
