Editor’s note: Many are familiar with my daughter, Sara Arkell, also known as The Piano Gal. Sara has been called to serve in the New York Syracuse Mission. This is a series on her weekly letters that we will be posting on the site for those who wish to follow along with her mission. You can read her previous emails here.
Last Monday of the month! That’s so crazy!
This week was great! I got to go on exchanges with Sister Oliverson and she is the CUTEST. We had a great time together! Hopefully one day we’ll be companions
On Saturday, I got to record a song!! Back at it! So you know the song I’ve talked about writing recently? Well we recorded the piano part for it this week! Elder Mikami and Elder Stengel who are in my zone drove 1 1/2 hours to Rome to our public library! Elder Mikami has the coolest set up. We plugged a keyboard into the library computer and he pulled up his software and we recorded it. I’m excited about it! I felt back at home with the headphones on recording the piano, I’ve missed doing that!! Hopefully the song will be finished in the next few weeks!
We did a church tour with Casner and his family this week!!! They actually came! YAY!! It was so refreshing. They told us they still need to figure out some scheduling things in order to actually come to church on Sunday but we’re making progress because now they’ve been in the building and we really testified of the importance of coming to church! Their kids are the cutest. Can’t wait for them all to be baptized someday!
This week we didn’t find a single new friend. So it is with missionary work, lots of ebb and flow! But we keep on putting 100% effort in and we will reap the fruit someday! We taught the 5th Sunday lesson at church yesterday about missionary work! It was fun!!

I studied a talk from this past General Conference from President Nelson and I loved it! It was the very first talk of the Conference. He talked about how Christ’s gospel is the ONLY enduring solution for peace in the world today. I can add my testimony to his. I am so grateful for the gospel. With all the evil in this world today, it can be a little discouraging but with the gospel, we can have peace always. What a blessing it is! I’m so grateful I get to share it with people out here in New York
Have the best last couple days of May!! Love you all so much!
