Editor’s note: Many are familiar with my daughter, Sara Arkell, also known as The Piano Gal. Sara has been called to serve in the New York Syracuse Mission. Well hello! It’s Monday again, time is a’flyin!
This week felt really long because we didn’t go to the mission office for transfers since we’re both sticking around which means we also didn’t have district council to split our week up! But that’s alright, life moves on!
One of the Elders in our mission is so tech smart and programmed a USB drive to have Windows on it so I can go to a library and plug it into the computer and edit videos for the social media pages without interfering with the library’s computer! It’s super cool!! We did that for a little bit this week.
I’m so grateful I get the opportunity to be on the social media team for our mission because I was hoping I’d be able to use the things I learned before my mission as a missionary!! God is good! I’m learning a whole new video editing software, though, so pray that I can learn it quickly so we can be as efficient with our time as possible!

We are also starting an ASL page and my companion is so excited! She has lots of experience with ASL so now we’re running two Instagram pages. Exciting!
We had stake conference this week!! It’s always a bit of a shock because the stakes out here are like the size of my home ward in Utah! But it was awesome to be gathered with more members than usual, it was uplifting. Our friend, Jim, came with his daughter!! So excited about him. He’s progressing so well! He’s gonna be baptized in no time!
I finished The Book of Mormon on Sunday morning! It took me about 6 months. I was studying in depth and trying to learn it so I can be a more effective teacher. (The institute manual in gospel library is such an amazing study resource) I LOVE that book of scripture so much. If you don’t read it everyday, READ IT EVERYDAY.
So many people out here noticeably shut down when we bring up The Book of Mormon and it makes me so sad! Satan wants people to be against it because he knows how much closer it’ll bring them to God & how much they’ll learn about Jesus Christ. I KNOW The Book of Mormon is true. There is no way it isn’t!
