Six Months Down Already for Sister Arkell in New York

Six Months Down Already for Sister Arkell in New York
Editor’s note: Many are familiar with my daughter, Sara Arkell, also known as The Piano Gal. Sara has been called to serve in the New York Syracuse Mission. This is a series on her weekly letters that we will be posting on the site for those who wish to follow along with her mission. You can read her previous emails here.
Hey hey everyone!! Yesterday marked 6 MONTHS as a missionary  where in the world has the time gone?! I can’t believe it. I was looking back at the past 6 months yesterday and was so grateful for everything I’ve learned & experienced already!!
  • I have come to know, without a doubt, that God loves me!
  • I have learned how the Spirit speaks to me & how to be brave and follow promptings!
  • I’ve met so many amazing people who will be lifelong friends!
  • I’ve gained a greater appreciation for my family & my parents specifically!
  • I have grown a really strong testimony that living the gospel provides PEACE, SAFETY, AND JOY!
Now on to the next 6, here we go! Woot woot!

This week was a good one!! We went bowling on Monday with the Elders and a member from our ward. Got a solid 105, woohoo haha!

I went on exchanges with Sister Bangerter. It’s so fun to be a sister training leader because I get to spend time with Sisters one on one! It’s awesome! We had a lot of fun.

We went to Syracuse to get new tires, which was right next to Chick Fil A so of course we had to get some!  It always makes me so happy and helps me feel a little normal/at home!

My little sister, Jessa, got baptized on Saturday!!! I’m so proud of her! I got to join over Zoom which was a blessing. Oh how I miss my family but I’m so grateful for technology that allowed me to participate all the way across the country. The Spirit was definitely there. I’m so grateful for baptism & that the priesthood was restored through Joseph Smith! Baptism is the key to the gate, but it doesn’t end there! It’s a continual pursuit towards heaven and it is worth every step.

My brother Evan baptized my sister Jessa

Life is good! Already a week into the month of March, that’s crazy! Time flies. Wowzah.

Naji came to church yesterday! He’s so awesome. He is on date for baptism this month so keep him in your prayers that he’ll make his date!!

I love getting letters & emails from you all!! I love you!

How you doin? Before I get to this brilliant masterpiece of a comment, I have a question (and your like "What!!! David has a question!" By the way, this one is just silly 😜 don't want you to forget me (I have tried but I can't forget you 😡😁😁😁. ever see Gilligan's Island? Boat set ashore deserted isle. I don't think qualifies as humor, seriously, but... In the TV show to he boat they were taking a little cruise on was called the s.s. Minnow (see where I'm going with this? S.S. Arkell 😎 Now then, you were right, me,oh, my. Time does fly. Now try to remember this I didn't look for following your progression throughout your mission. I have been looking into The book of Mormon across the internet,or however you phrase it. I don't know how much longer is left in your mission. Eternity? You have been given a great gift and I was blessed to have met you. Thank you. If you have completed,if it's ok, I will read the the rest,or continue on. I might even consider writing another msg,if you wanted and what the rules for missionaries are. If you were interested. One more thing, always is. Since I stumbled across this post of your mom's and dad's, anyways they seem like awesome parents. I hope to hear from you someday. I miss you. C-ya 😎
