The Fastest Week of My Entire Life

The Fastest Week of My Entire Life
Editor’s note: Many are familiar with my daughter, Sara Arkell, also known as The Piano Gal. Sara has been called to serve in the New York Syracuse Mission. This is a series on her weekly letters that we will be posting on the site for those who wish to follow along with her mission. You can read her previous emails here.

This week was probably the fastest week of my life. I feel like I blinked and now it’s Monday again! Oh my goodness time is flying by.

I realized yesterday that I am already 1/4 of the way done with my mission. This transfer was the longest one (7 weeks instead of 6) but it has felt like the shortest. It’s so weird!

We put our friend Michelle on date for baptism in April!!! YAY! She is amazing and we are so excited for her! Please pray for her that she will continue to progress and have a desire to be baptized! We love her!

It got to -10⁰F this week, brrrr. We stayed inside a lot of the time this week because we wanted to stay safe and not get frostbite! I’m so thankful for indoor heating. I definitely take it for granted! Don’t forget to thank Heavenly Father for your blessings everyday. We are so blessed!!

Sister Griggs & I started writing a song! 🎶  She is so talented at writing poems. She wrote the lyrics in like 5 minutes, I was shocked! But I’m so excited for this song!! It was one of my New Year’s goals to work on another song. I’m thankful she’s my companion for this reason. It’s so fun to write songs! Hopefully we won’t get separated at transfers next week because we need to finish the song!

My yellow dress video is done!! In case you didn’t see it on social media already, here is the YouTube link > The Miracle of the Yellow Dress I’m so thankful for this experience and I’ll never forget it!  God loves you and He knows you perfectly!

Like life, this week had ups and downs! It’s normal. But does anyone feel like whenever you start working on developing a Christlike attribute, God just dumps a lot of opportunities on you to help you develop it??! I’ve been praying for and working on patience, and boy oh boy, I had numerous occasions this week to work on that! But you just try to be 1% better everyday and that’s all you can do!

I Love you all!! We get transfer news a week from today. There’s a good chance I’ll be leaving Auburn but I could potentially stay, too. Ah it’s so nerve-wracking! Crazy! HAVE THE BEST WEEK EVER AND KEEP SPREADING JOY!!!

I know I commented in another place but I just have to comment on this one too :-) Your daughter is so lucky to be serving with Elder Bender. I had the privilege of teaching him when he was in Primary, his testimony even back then was just amazing. The content that your daughter and her fellow missionaries are putting out is truly inspiring and is touching the lives of so many.
