New Animated Come Follow Me Video Series Is Now Available Online

the scripture project

The Scripture Project released its first episode of their Come Follow Me series on Living Scriptures, which covers 2 Nephi 31-33. Episode 1 of the animated video series focuses on the last three books of Second Nephi, with a clearer explanation of “the doctrine of Christ” (see 2 Ne 31:2, 21; 32:6) and Nephi’s final words.

The first episode is six-minutes long and shows a quick recap of Nephi’s great influence on the Church and its members. Nephi’s visions and teachings about Jesus Christ are our guides to prepare ourselves for the judgment day. His rough journey shows us that obeying the Lord’s commandments, despite trials and hardships, will lead to great happiness.

These weekly Scripture Project videos are a great resource for families as a supplement to the Come Follow Me curriculum, providing entertaining information for children, youth, and parents alike.

Together with the presence of the Spirit, watching the first episode will give you a better understanding of the importance of baptism. You will get an answer to the questions “Why did Jesus Christ need to be baptized?” and “What’s next after baptism?”

Episode 1 also gives us a deeper explanation of the significance of:

  • receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost
  • progressing onward
  • the tongue of angels
  • the power of sincere prayer

Nephi’s final words tell us that “when a man speaks by the power of the Holy Ghost, the power of the Holy Ghost carries it unto our hearts” (see 2 Ne 33:1).

You can read the scriptures before you watch the video or vice versa. It is also recommended for Family Home Evenings, Sunday Schools, or personal study. You can also share it with friends of other faiths who are interested in learning more about the scriptures. The video is clear and simple, perfect for investigators, too!
