As someone who lives in a fast-paced, hectic world, which I’m sure many readers can relate to, I often find myself confused.
In my extensive experience with life, all 18 ¾ years of it, I think the only certainty, the only bit of information I can be sure to count on is the fact that I can’t count on anything at all. Think about it. When was the last time something worked out exactly as planned?
Yeah. Didn’t think so.
When life inevitably throws its quirky plot twists and perplexing ironies, what do you do? Well, I think a more fitting question is what CAN you do? Despite the mere attempts of mankind to assert dominance upon life herself, life continues on; unrushed by our feeble demands for her compliance. We cannot control life. When life throws you for a loop, you’re riding that loop regardless of your willingness or lack thereof.
I digress.
What can you do when you don’t know what to do? That is the question the company Lifey has been attempting to answer.
Lifey is a “been there, done that” app (see http://lifey.org\). It is a place where people who live in a fast-paced, hectic world, which I’m sure many readers can relate to, can upload videos of them talking about their experiences over a myriad of topics such as:
- Health conditions
- Religion
- Travel
- Latter-day Saint Missions
- and many more
So what can you do when you don’t know what to do? Getting advice from people who have been in your same situation wouldn’t hurt. In fact, this genuine outreach may be exactly what you need.
Recently the Lifey app reached 10,000 videos uploaded. This is nothing short of inspiring. Why? Because this app was built from the ground up as a means of helping people. More videos uploaded means more people can be helped than ever before. More videos uploaded means that there are more experiences shared, which entails a greater likelihood that someone will be touched, inspired, or even saved.
The forthcoming of social media has allowed for a broader impact of, well, anything you desire to share: Instagram posts, funny memes, peculiar cat videos, and most importantly- your story. With Lifey, sharing your story is made that much easier.
Lifey also allows viewers to access precious information you can’t just Google. Lifey, in other words, is a growing network of people ready and willing to help. And this help is growing more accessible every day.
So thank you to those who have already contributed to this database of advice, and a future thank you to all who have stories they’re ready and willing to share.
With the availability of a growing resource such as Lifey to contribute to and gain help from, let us bid life a strong “come what may”, because regardless of her quirky plot twists and perplexing ironies, we know that help and solace is near.
