Russell M. Nelson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, posted a video today of him playing the piano as 7-year-old Claire Crosby sings a Nelson family favorite Christmas song, “Silent Night.”
Sister Nelson and I were thrilled to meet the Dave and Ashley Crosby family during this Christmas season and share an evening together. Imagine my good fortune at having the chance to accompany their daughter Claire as she sang one of our favorites, “Silent Night.”
Music is such a powerful form of worship, and that reality is never clearer than during the Christmas season when we enjoy beautiful carols that testify of the risen Lord. This December I hope you will make time with family and friends to enjoy the glorious music of this season. Merry Christmas! #LightTheWorld
The social media singing star has more than 6 million followers on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram with social media video views numbering more than 1 billion. Her family are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Crosby family posted the following on their Instagram account:
We are so honored to have had an incredible experience as a family last week. We spent an evening playing music and celebrating Christmas with President Russell M. Nelson and his amazing wife, Wendy Nelson. President Nelson is a former renowned heart surgeon and now leads our church, The @churchofjesuschrist – providing the world with God’s guidance and direction on how to be more like Jesus Christ. He also plays the piano and has perfect pitch like Claire!
Being in the presence of President and Sister Nelson, we can personally testify of the absolute goodness and spirit that just radiates from them. We will forever be so grateful that they took the time with our little family during this Christmas season.
We know God lives! We are so humbled and grateful to celebrate the birth of the Savior during this season and always. Merry Christmas!
