Latter-day Saint Women Who Crushed it in 2018

Women are incredible. They create beauty wherever they go, educate and inspire those around them, and are oozing with talent and ability.

There are many incredible Latter-day Saint women who are doing amazing things. They live in your homes, in your communities, and each one has such a powerful influence in her sphere.

I highlight just a few who have made an impact on me and are blazing the trail by making a huge impact on our world.

Jenny Noonan Dye

Jenny Noonan Dye

Talk about powerful and dynamic women! Jenny Noonan Dye is an incredible wife, mother, voice, and advocate who has an amazing ability to love fiercely and offer compassion to everyone. As she best says it, “I know there is room enough and love enough for all.”

Sara Arkell the Piano Gal

Sara Arkell

Sara Arkell (a.k.a. The Piano Gal) is a pianist and YouTuber who encourages people to discover their own talents and use them to bless the world. She hit a big milestone in 2018, reaching 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Sara also spreads her message through her merchandise line, encouraging people through the hashtags #findyournote and #shineyourlight.

After getting thousands of comments on her Youtube videos where people would essentially knock themselves down just because they couldn’t play piano as well as her, Sara is passionate about helping people find their one talent – whether that be music, theater, public speaking, or whatever it may be.

When we all discover our own talents, we can appreciate each other more and use our gifts to bless those around us.

Sarah Tanner

Sarah Tanner

Do you know many YouTubers that have channels with hundreds of thousands of subscribers that decide to push the stop button and start a brand new channel, just to tell the world that they are worth it? Yeah, neither do I. But that is exactly what Sarah Tanner and her husband, Johnny, did.

Sarah and Johnny put their main channel “The Tannerites” on the side burner, only posting there a few times a week and now post daily under the channel name “The Yawi Family.”

Yawi means “You are worth it” – and it’s a message that everyone deserves to hear every day. That is why the Yawi family sign off every vlog by saying, “You Are Worth It.”

Lyza Bull

Lyza Bull

Lyza Bull is a singer and dancer whose talents are pretty well-known thanks to her incredible YouTube videos that have a propensity to go viral. In 2018, her mashup of The Greatest Showman has received over 6.7 millions views, and it came at just the right time.

Lyza and her mom, Shaundee, were seriously considering giving up on YouTube but decided to stick it out. Thanks to their uber-successful video, and a special message from a fan (read about that here) they decided to keep making awesomeness – and boy are we glad they did!

“Much of the major growth that is coming to the Church in the last days will come because many of the good women of the world (in whom there is often such an inner sense of spirituality) will be drawn to the Church in large numbers.

This will happen to the degree that the women of the Church reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and to the degree that the women of the Church are seen as distinct and different—in happy ways—from the women of the world.” – Spencer W. Kimball

ganel-lyn condie

Ganel-Lyn Condie

Ganel-Lyn is a popular motivational speaker and author – known for inspiring others with her unique honesty, authenticity, and spirit. She is dedicated to her family, faith, and inspiring others. She is also an award-winning journalist and the former editor of Wasatch Woman magazine.

I met Ganel-Lyn for the first time this year and she has an incredible ability to make people feel loved – a gift we are all glad she possesses.

Danielle Davis

Danielle Davis

Danielle is an awesome mom, wife, and blogger. Her motto? “Make every day the best day for you, your marriage and your family!” Danielle is one of the most sincere, kind-hearted individuals you will ever meet.

Recently Danielle set the goal to bless 200 babies and families by providing them with much-needed necessities for Christmas. The result? It’s pretty incredible.

I first met Danielle at a blogging conference where she and her husband presented. When I introduced myself, her and her husband were so friendly. They saw me in the hall later that day and treated me like they had known me forever. Danielle is an expert at building connections with people, and knowing her means you will always have a reason to smile.

Veronica Romney

Veronica Romney

Veronica is an online entrepreneur and speaker who is known on Instagram as “The Modern Mami.” She is a marketing genius and an incredible speaker who empowers other women to take the next step of marketing themselves and building their own businesses.

One of her blog posts that struck a chord with many in 2018 was “My One Year Corporate-Free Anniversary “, where she detailed her struggles and successes of leaving behind her security and employment for the unknown world of self-employment.

Although there were lots of struggles and tears, mixed with insecurities and fears, she has come out on top and is riding the wave of success.

“I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men; they are far superior and always have been”. – William Golding

Aleisha McDonald

Aleisha McDaniel

If you know Aleisha, you know that she feels very strongly that women need women. People need to feel loved, and beautiful, and wanted – and Aleisha takes that responsibility upon herself for those in her sphere.

She is incredible – just a dynamite woman. Her bio on Instagram reads “Award-winning writer, speaker, blogger, cookie eater, nonprofit owner, Diet Coke drinker, autism mama!” That gives you a sense for her spunk and sense of humor.

One of the coolest things Aleisha does is randomly gift piñatas full of goodies to people to show them they are loved and remembered. Just last week she dropped off piñata number 153 to a single mother in her neighbor.

The first time my wife met her, Aleisha told her she was beautiful and gave her a big hug. She instantly became one of my wife’s favorite people. Is it any wonder why?

Camille Walker

Camille Walker

Camille is awesome, and if you see her she’ll most likely have a smile on her face.

“If we met I would probably shock you by talking like we had known each other for years. I still surprise my husband often when I strike up a conversation with someone that my husband is sure I know only to find out later that we had just met.”

Camille is eager to share with others tips on how to make the most out of motherhood.

She and her cousin, Melissa, run a site called My Mommy Style where their goal is to empower women to be the best they can be, however that looks. They believe there is no right way to be a mom, but that each can do it in their unique “style”.

ashley romney

Ashley Romney

Ashley’s goal is to help young women become confident contributors to their families and communities. She seeks to help young women develop a greater strength as they come unto Christ.

Ashley is an incredible mentor and has wonderful resources at The Power of One Girl for young women who are struggling with the myriad of challenges that are so prevalent in our society today.

Ashley is a proactive problem solver and is anxiously engaged in making the world a better place for our young women.

camille nelson music

Camille Nelson

Camille is a guitarist, violinist, and speaker who just happens to have a knack for landing on Billboard charts. You could say it’s starting to become a habit.

After her debut album “Lead Me Home” finished near the top of the charts last year, she was among the many talented musicians who were feature on Stone Angel Music’s collaborative album, “Sunday”, which finished #1 on the Billboard charts.

Camille has talent, wit, intelligence, and is impacting the world in so many incredible ways. Her music video, Be Thou My Vision, which was shot in Ireland by Elias Jessop, took home one of the awards for Best Music Video at the Utah Music Awards in September.

Rachel Bennett

Rachel Bennett

A few years ago, Rachel, a mother of 5 awesome kids, decided that she wanted to get a job. After talking with her husband, Jase, they decided to give YouTube a shot instead to see if it could provide some side income.

That was a good choice.

A couple million subscribers and a few channels later, Rachel no longer has the itch to find a job.

Rachel and her family have built a YouTube empire on the foundation of family, fun, and friendship. Their largest channel, The Ohana Adventure, is close to 2 million subscribers and approaching 500 million views!

Rachel is incredibly fun, adventurous, and genuinely kind to everyone. She is a great organizer and makes things happen. After a super successful 2018, we can’t wait to see what she and her family accomplish in 2019.

Jordan Page Fun Cheap or Free

Jordan Page

You won’t find a more dynamic, fun, and motivated woman than Jordan. In her own words, she is a “Frugal Living and Productivity Ninja” who seems to have a limitless supply of energy.

After years of running the successful blog Fun Cheap or Free and appearing on national televisions shows, speaking at conferences, and a myriad of other things, she and her husband Bubba decided to launch their own budge and finance program called Budget Boot Camp. They empower individuals to take control of their money and live frugally, giving them step-by-step guidance along the way.

Jordan loves to party, is incredible at making friends, and is not afraid to speak her mind and give great advice. I was able to attend a conference with her this past year and every time she made a comment to the group I thought, “I wish I had said that.”

Jordan and her husband, Bubba, are certainly a power couple and have devoted a lot of their time and resources to break down barriers of misunderstanding regarding their religious beliefs.

With as good as 2018 was, we can’t wait to see what Jordan has up her sleeve for 2019! Perhaps her own TV show?!

Latter-day Saint Women Who Crushed it in 2018

This list of women who have done incredible things in 2018 is, needless to say, not all-inclusive. If I had more time I could write another 5 articles detailing incredible women who are doing amazing things.

Now it’s your turn. Comment below and tell me the name of a woman you know that has done incredible things in 2018. How have they impacted your life?

It’s a good experience to give praise, and it will feel even better to the receiver of your compliments to know they are recognized for their awesomeness.

As Mark Twain said, “I can live for two months on a good compliment.”

Have you read this article yet? https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2018/10/the-correct-name-of-the-church?lang=eng

It's an article written by our Prophet. He is the president of our church.

Please change the name of your blog, and the name of this article. The name of the church these women belong to is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are leaving out the name of Jesus Christ, and it's most offensive to Him.

Other names you could use: "When a shortened [second] reference is needed, the terms ‘the Church’ or the ‘Church of Jesus Christ’ are encouraged. The ‘restored Church of Jesus Christ’ is also accurate and encouraged."

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Gwen Owens

Suzanne Bailey..... who just commented above speaking the words my heart felt as I read about the amazing women above. Some my friends and I know personally, some I’ve never met but am thoroughly impressed with and then thought “Wow, Why is it taking me so long to get on my game.....? Oh.... because life happens and courage and abilities come in their own time.” Forward progress step by step is what each of these authentic, vulnerable women have taken.... they’ve stepped out of themselves to be brave.

I love seeing how amazing and courageous these women are and I love hearing Suzanne articulate the support for millions of women living courageously everyday!

You women everywhere have your own special purpose and mission. Your own realm and sphere of influence.

Thank you Suzanne for sharing your beautiful way with words and touching base for so many women.

And thank you all those dynamic women who share their light.

And thank you for all those women who don’t feel dynamic.....being who you are and sharing your gifts and talents matter and have an incredible ripple effect on all the lives you touch.

Sunday 30th of December 2018

This is dedicated to all the Women of faith reading this right now sitting on a couch, no bra, looking at a huge pile of laundry, while eating a piece of leftover Christmas candy and wondering, “what have I done that’s so amazing in 2018”? Well I’m here to tell everyone of you, (even the ones with bras) that YOU ARE AMAZING! Your biggest accomplishment may be just getting up each day and pushing through a crappy job just to feed your kids. Maybe getting your kids to church on time every week as a single Mom was your biggest highlight. Not dropping the F Bomb...as much and feeding your kids a vegetable once a week was my biggest accomplishment in 2018!👍🏼 ....I admire all the amazing women that take it to the next level and are changing this world one awesome moment as a time, but here’s to the women that think they are less than, never enough, that don’t think they are beautiful enough or tumble, tubelar oh wait tumblr...ya that’s it! Don’t look to the left or the right and think you are not amazing! God loves the perfectly imperfect you! Here’s to 2019 of maybe much of the same of what 2018 held, but with way more self love! ❤️
