The Church Knocks It Out of the Park with Latest Video About the Book of Mormon

Compelling Witness of the Book of Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a video on YouTube entitled, “Compelling Witness”, which attempts to bring to light some of the facts related to the translation of the Book of Mormon.

The setting is in a cafeteria and a courtroom, and the Church knocked it out of the park with this entertaining, educational, and poignant video.

There are a few cameo appearances in the video that are quite a treat.

A student is confronted when a Book of Mormon drops out of her backpack, and the next thing she knows she is in a courtroom, and she is the defense attorney called upon to defend the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith.

Check out this awesome video below! (And feel free to leave a positive comment on the YouTube video because those that oppose Joseph Smith are barraging it with negative comments)

Reaction to the video has been very positive:

Another viewer said:

“We can get caught up in facts or discrepancies of history, but what is absolute truth is that the Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ who’s real, and lives, and His Gospel is in this book. The Holy Ghost will testify of the truth but only if you’re willing to trust that He will. Have an open heart and mind.”

The Book of Mormon is the word of God

The description of the video gives some of the details of the translation making it easy to see that the work Joseph Smith did was truly a miracle.

With a single draft completed in 65 days, an unschooled man of 23 produced a book of over 500 pages, with hundreds of unique names and complex story lines.

It has a persuasive enough history on its own, but you can’t prove the truth of The Book of Mormon with facts alone. The case for The Book of Mormon won’t likely be won in a courtroom or a cafeteria.

You can find the proof through a real desire to know and a sincere, persistent effort of asking God and listening for a reply. Then the answer comes, to the heart and mind of each individual who truly wants to know, with the testimony of the Holy Ghost as the most compelling witness of all. It’s not fiction. It’s a miracle.

After you check out the video, share it with someone who you think will benefit from watching it. I was very impressed, it was so well done.

I add my witness that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God, not of man. He stood by his testimony of the Book of Mormon until the day he died, and I will stand by my testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith until I do the same.

  • When I received the Book of Mormon, being a little skeptical, I prayed and asked God if I should read it. That night I had a dream and in that dream an angel appeared with a quill and ink well along with a huge book which pages glistened and told me if I wanted my name written in the book, I should read The Book Of Mormon. I immediately awoke with a surety, I must read it and I did and completed reading it in one month. I knew I would begin on a sure course that there would be a great change in my life and nothing I ever read would ever bring more peace to my soul, nor would I ever, ever believe that I can and do receive personnel revelation when needed! I believe That The Book of Mormon is true and that the Lord was waiting for me to find and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ as I try to do each day. I learned that the Lord has and had even then a plan for me. I love that book and depend on it to endure all things. That was thirty years ago and their is always more to learn each time I read it.

  • Very well done. Excellent message. Joseph Smith translated the record by the gift and power of God. Read it and pray about it, and the Lord will reveal the truth of it to you, by the Holy Ghost.

  • My first strong witness of the book of Mormon came while I was reading it as a 15 year old. I was a shy child and often felt lonely and left out. While I read the book I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and love that I know can only come from God. I knew it was true then and I know it’s true now. I read it every day. It testifies of Jesus Christ and his gospel and is a companion to the Bible.

  • I have been blessed to read the Book of Mormon every day for the past 3 1/2 years. I made a covenant with Heavenly Father that I would do this, and I will not break that covenant. With every beat of my heart, and with every breath that I take, with every particle of my physical body I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God preserved for man to read, study, share so that we can return home to be with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I absolutely loved this video (and I have shared it). Thank you for starting my day with this message. Bud Walters

  • I read the Book of Mormon everyday. It is the answer book to all of life’s questions! It teaches you how to treat others, who to look to, for an example of righteous living. How to get through a difficult day. How to over come trials and temptations we face everyday. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. The list could go on and on. Life is a test, but it is an open book test. And the Book of Mormon is the answer book!!

  • The climate of the culture around us seems to be so toxic and combative these days. I learned for myself years ago that in just about everything people believe what they WANT to believe. This video is probably more for a subtle comfort for those that choose to believe in the restoration, and the bringing forth of the Book of Mormon is one of the hugest, but not the only miracle that has taken place during the last 200+ years. May His Kingdom roll forth! “No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing…..”

  • The truthfulness and authenticity of the Book of Mormon is only found in the reading of it. The sincere seeker of truth will come to know this, as promised by Moroni, by the power of the Holy Spirit. The book testifies of Jesus Christ, for this is it’s primary purpose. It is written for the “Jew and the Gentile” and is a fulfillment of the prophesies of Isaiah, some 760 years before Christ was born. The book of Mormon is comparable to the Bible and complements it’s record of God’s dealing with His children. It was written for us in this latter-day and helps us understand the true nature of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the blessings promised to Abraham, Issac and Jacob of old. As we follow the prophet’s counsel to read from it daily we are blessed with protection and the Spirit.

  • Joseph Smith restored the true gospel to the earth. As part of that gospel he restored the knowledge that a grown man can have fulfilling and righteous relationships with multiple teenage girls. God sactioned these relationships with his holy sealing power. The world has lost this truth, but we must cling to the prophet’s teachings. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that his words and actions are the only way we can achieve happiness in these latter days.

  • The video is good but Elder Callisters talk from which it was taken is better. It is a classic equal to that of Pres Bensons on pride.

  • I love the Book of Mormon and the peace it brings me. Each time I read it, I find answers to prayers. I feel the Spirit so strong when I read it. I did feel the burning inside when the missionaries were teaching my husband and I. I love the messages and teachings in the Book of Mormon. The things I have learned, makes me a better mother, wife, daughter, and a child of God.

  • Awesome! Can you think of a recent answer to prayer you’ve received while reading the Book of Mormon? If you feel comfortable sharing, I would love to hear it!

  • The Book of Mormon is a fulfillment of biblical prophecies. This fulfillment requires divine revelation. Its truthfulness can only be known by divine revelation. Receive it; read it; and ponder about it; pray and ask God if it is true or not.

  • Based on my careful study and personal experience I can truly witness that, “I know the Book of Mormon is true.” ~ Rodolfo Misajon Manuel, PhD, from the Philippines

  • This is a great video. I have been reading the Book of Mormon now for 48 years and each time I read it I learn something new or a principle is seared deeper into my being. IT IS TRUE! It is a second witness to the Bible’s teaching that Jesus is the Christ, our Lord and Savior. Joseph Smith was the Lord’s prophet in bringing this record forth and restoring the fullness of Jesus Christ’s teachings to the world. The young woman is correct in saying “I am not here to argue with you . . . read it for yourself, pray and ask God if it is true or not.” I did, 48 years ago and have NEVER felt anything different about its truthfulness.!

  • If I wanted you to invest in a company and told you everything you wanted to hear about your return on investment, but the company was started by a lying pedophile treasure hunter (who was arrested for swindling people that way) , would you invest with that company? Even if you “felt good” about what the company might do, or be doing? Or should you investigate it before hand, and not just see how far that good feeling takes you?

  • Trevor – Joseph Smith was none of those things. He was/is a prophet of God. It seems you have heard the words of those against him – probably should also give him the benefit of the doubt and look up some of what those who supported him said.

  • What do people mean when they say the book is “true” I could use some clearification please? Thank you!

  • I first read the Book of Mormon on the way to Samoa in 1953.

I prayed about it and the Holy Spirit screamed a confirmation just south of Tutuila around 5 A.M. on the last day of trip.

Over 65 years ago… and I have never had any doubts.

It is truly a work of God !!!

  • The Book of Morman is true. Every word comes from God. Pray about it and read with an open mind and you realize that an unlearned man could not have read it without heavenly help

  • I thought of Elder Calister’s talk even before I saw him as the judge! This video is awesome but Elder Calister’s talk is masterful!

  • To Daniel, from March 2019, what does it mean to say that the Book of Mormon is “true”. Did you get an answer to your question? I hope it was a good one. “War of the Worlds” was an obvious work of fiction – “untrue”. But many people committed suicide because they thought it was “true”. LDS people think the Book of Mormon is “true”. We know (from answers to our prayers) that the words in the Book really happened. That the stories were truly told by prophets in ancient times. That the stories actually affect us, in this day. I have read the Book of Mormon – Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I have prayed for understanding of its “truth”. I was blessed to be able to take a study class on the Book. I felt inspired. I am grateful to know that Joseph Smith was a latter-day prophet who received revelation of the “truth” of the words in this holy book. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are alive and are revealing their plan of Eternal Salvation to humans in this day.

  • If you know some of the practices of the ancient world there are physical evidences. Yet the final convincing testimony is, and must be, that of the Holy Spirit. Read and ask God. But “ask in faith, nothing wavering” with the commitment to change your life according to the answer. God will not give you knowledge that you will be condemned for not living.

  • Excuse me, but the identity and qualifications of an “expert witness” are always relevant.
