There is music, and there is music that makes you feel closer to heaven.
A new song written by Angie Killian and Shane Mickelson does just that, it connects you with the peace that is available through Christ and makes you feel one step closer to God.
Angie and Shane added the wonderful talents of Masa Fukuda, Lyza Bull, Sara Arkell (The Piano Gal), Eve Barlow, and Cory Bowcut – all culminating in the production and release of a new music video that is making waves.
The song was written to accompany the 2018 LDS Youth Theme, which is Peace in Christ. The name of the song is Master of the Ocean: The Savior Gives Peace to Me.
Shane Mickelsen shared the purpose behind the song and the hopes they had while filming the video:
“Peace Be Still.” These words uttered by our Savior on the Sea of Galilee 2,000 years ago calmed the elements, brought hope and safety to His disciples, and continue to this day to bring peace, hope, and strength to believers in Christ all around the world.
It is our hope that this music will bring you closer to Jesus Christ and invite His peace to accompany you wherever you are and wherever you may go.
We love symbolism. It was Angie’s idea to include crowns of olive branches – symbols of peace, and necklaces bearing the image a dove – a symbol of the Holy Ghost who brings us peace.
If we look around the world, no matter how crazy things seem, we will always be able to see symbols of peace from our Savior. He can make our hearts as still as He made the sea, no matter what storms are raging inside of us.

There is a social movement in conjunction with this video, and Angie and Shane are asking YOU to share how Jesus gives peace to them, using the hashtag #TheSaviorGivesPeaceToMe.
Please retweet this video! When you do, would you share a specific way the Savior gives peace to you? He gives peace to me because I know through Him death has no victory and I will live forever. #TheSaviorGivesPeaceToMehttps://t.co/Qw5b6VJJsb

The Savior Jesus Christ gives me peace because I know that He is merciful, and that He is always willing to forgive me if I repent. He is so willing to leave the past in the past and look forward. #TheSaviorGivesPeaceToMe https://t.co/etYO5dVnF6
