WATCH: 12-Year-Old LDS Phenom Lyza Bull Sings “Anchor of My Soul”

As I watched the incredible Lyza Bull perform with the National Champion BYU Cougarettes, the words “…and a little child shall lead them” were ringing in my ears.

Now, 12-year-old Lyza might not like being called a little child, but the comparison is appropriate, as through her incredible voice and powerful message she is indeed leading and teaching us.

When I’m tossed upon the waters.

When winds of change begin to blow.

His words of truth I will follow.

The Savior’s hope is the anchor of my soul.

Lyza and her mom, Shaundee, shared their hope for those who watch this incredible video:

We hope, through watching this video, you will feel of our love for you and for our Savior. And as you journey through your paths here on this Earth, that you will find that the “Savior’s Hope is the Anchor or your Soul!”

Elder Wirthlin’s quote seems very appropriate in the context of this video and the beautiful lyrics:

Please enjoy this beautiful video, and the even more beautiful message that the hope that comes through Jesus Christ truly is the anchor of our souls.

We are so thankful for Lyza Bull and her family, who are doing exactly what God asks each of us to do with our talents. They are holding up their light to the world. As this song so wonderfully illustrates, Jesus Christ is that light.

Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up. – 3 Nephi 18:24

What a beautiful article about sweet talented Lyza Bull. The scripture you quote from 3 Nephi 18:24 is actually the BYU Cougarette scripture for this year and something we always try to do. Reflect and emulate the light of the Savior.
