Hundreds of members and missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have taken the challenge and we’ve highlighted a few missionaries below.
2nd Nephi 19:2
“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.”
Darkness and distractions surround us. I have felt both in my life. But I have also felt the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ illuminate my life. I cannot describe the absolute joy and light that the Gospel gives to me, and I am so grateful that that light shined on me.
My favorite verse of the Book of Mormon is Alma 37:37 that says…
“Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.”
I really love this scripture because it reminds me that we need to take everything to the Lord and always have our trust in Him…and if we do that we will be blessed at the last day.
Ether 12:4
“Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.”
I love this verse because it explains what hope really is. Sometimes I find we have a hard time understanding what hope really is. Hope is having faith. As we go through our lives with faith, we know that whatever happens, it will be for the best, having this knowledge gives me a better understanding of life.
Jacob 6:5
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I beseech of you in words of soberness that ye would REPENT and come with full purpose of heart, and cleave unto God as he cleaveth unto you. And while his arm of mercy is extended towards you in the light of the day, harden not your hearts.”
I think sometimes it’s hard to see repentance as a joyful thing nowadays, but I testify with my whole soul that it is OH SO joyful! Christ is anxiously waiting for us to turn to Him so He can mend our broken hearts and fill us with joy! Reach out to Him whose merciful arm is extended all the day long, and cling to His love. 💓

Alma 29:9
“I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.”
I strive everyday to be a worthy tool in His hand. As I do His work, I can experience pure joy because I’m helping my brothers and sisters. ❤
3 Nephi 11:15
“And it came to pass that the multitude wet fourth, and thrust their hands in his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it it was written by the prophets, that should come.”
I love this scripture because when Jesus Christ came to the Americas he let the people come one at a time, to show what he has done for them. Now He invites you to come unto Him and learn what He has done for you personally.
Moroni 7:45-46
45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail
I love this scripture because it reminds us that we need to develop the pure love that Christ possessed in ourselves so that we can help others turn to Jesus Christ. If we truly humble ourselves before God and seek out the welfare of others, we will be a valuable tool in the Lord’s hand.
Moroni 7:13
“But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.”
I love this verse. It gives me a filter for when I question anything! If it is good, then it is of God. That simple. For me, I will always be searching for good. Which means I will always be searching for God. This book is truly of God and it is another testament of His son, our brother, Jesus Christ.
2 Nephi 25:26 “And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.”
I love this verse so much because Christ truly is the center of all things! He is our Advocate, our brother, and our Redeemer! He is our everything!
Mosiah 26:30
“Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me.”
This verse means a lot to me because it reminds me that their is no choice, sin or mistake that will ever take me out of reach of my Savior’s redeeming love. Jesus Christ will never forsake me. What a wonderful promise that is. ❤
Ether 12:6
“And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.”
We know that we can show our faith by continuing to follow God’s commandments, even when it is hard, and we will receive great blessings because of it!
2 Nephi 2:6
“Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.”
We love that it testifies of Jesus Christ and his role as our Savior!

Mosiah 2:17 “And behold I tell you these things that he may learn wisdom; that he may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
I love this verse because service is something that Christ did that he taught us to do. I know we really are serving God by serving others and it can bring joy in our lives.
