Wayne Burton is an award-winning singer and songwriter who organized a multi-artist cover of the Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men classic One Sweet Day. Joining Wayne are Rebecca Lopez, Yahosh Bonner, Madilyn Paige and Beyond 5’s Patch Crowe.
This song has been in the works for months and Burton wasn’t planning on releasing it yet, but he decided to launch ahead of schedule due to the events in Las Vegas. This song is dedicated to the victims and heroes of the October 2017 Las Vegas shooting.
Burton was heartbroken over the senseless act of tragedy in Las Vegas that left 59 people dead and hundreds more injured. Burton decided to use his musical gifts to bless others, and felt now was the time to release this video.
“After the terrible tragedy and the heroism of the events in Las Vegas I felt this was the right time for this video. Our group of artists had recently recorded this song about having hope in the face of losing loved ones, and made the music video along with this message. It couldn’t be more fitting than now with this horrible shooting and so many affected. We hope it brings peace to those directly and indirectly affected by the recent events,” Burton said.
Wayne closed the video with a message of hope, that although the families of the victims are suffering greatly now, there is the hope and sweet assurance that the separation is only temporary until these families are reunited on that “one, sweet day.”
