In a video on Mormon Life Hacker’s YouTube channel, John Dye asks, “Alexa, what is ScripturesEveryDay.com“?
Alexa then directs him to a new Amazon skill which allows you to listen to the Bible, Book of Mormon, or any of the standard works.
ScripturesEveryDay.com designed this skill and provided some detail on how to get it to work on your Amazon Alexa:
Description
This skill lets Alexa read a daily scheduled passage from the Book of Mormon.
We start on January 1st every year and end on December 31st, so join in with us!
Ask Alexa every day to hear that day’s reading. If you miss a day, no problem! Just ask Alexa to read the missed reading by saying:
Alexa, get the reading for yesterday from the Book of Mormon
-or-
Alexa, ask the Book of Mormon to get the reading from December 1st, 2016.
Other ways to phrase your interaction:
— Listen to today’s verses —
Alexa, ask the Book of Mormon to read today’s scriptures.
Alexa, ask Book of Mormon to read.
Alexa, read from the Book of Mormon.
Alexa, ask the Book of Mormon for today’s reading.
— Read the scriptures for another date —
Alexa, ask the Book of Mormon to read me the scriptures for tomorrow.
Alexa, get the reading for yesterday from the Book of Mormon.
Alexa, ask the Book of Mormon to read for December 29th.
We love hearing your feedback on how to make this better. Feel free to send me feedback directly at feedback@scriptureseveryday.com.
