As I was looking at the front cover of the Book of Mormon recently, I pondered on the declaration, “Another Testament of Jesus Christ.” I knew every page, thought, word, and verse testified of the Savior, but I also wondered if any of the authors wrote a PERSONAL, heartfelt testimony of JESUS CHRIST, such as we do in our fast and testimony meetings – FOR US! If they did, I wanted to read them in that light, imagining them walking up to the pulpit and offering their testimony of the Savior of the World!
I spent the next five hours in the Book of Mormon, turning each and every page from beginning to looking for these testimonies, and…THEY WERE THERE! I wrote each one down. This new insight has blessed me beyond measure. The Spirit I felt as I searched, read, and recorded these testimonies of the Savior touched me in a way I can never forget.
Enjoy these testimonies of Jesus Christ from faithful, ancient authors – they were written for you.
Nephi, a great prophet in the Book of Mormon stated:
“And now, my beloved brethren, and also Jew, and all ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good.”

The chapter heading, above Nephi’s words, reads: “Nephi’s words are true – They testify of Christ.”
The authors of the Book of Mormon have shared their personal, heartfelt testimonies of the Savior – with us! These testimonies are beautiful! Their words are filled with the Spirit of God! They give glory, praise and honor to the King. They point us to the Master.
Their words are true. They testify of Christ.
In their own words…
Ammon
“My joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God…Who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part of which I feel….He has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding he comprehendeth all things and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name….This is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo. Yea, blessed is the name of my God.” (Alma 26)

Alma

“God has delivered me from prison, and from bonds, and from death; yea, and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me. I know that he will raise me up at the last day, to dwell with him in glory; yea, and I will praise him forever.” (Alma 36)
Enos
“I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality; and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he shall say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father.” (Enos 1)
Nephi

May the grace of God the Father whose throne is high in the heavens, and our Lord Jesus Christ, who sitteth on the right hand of his power, until all things shall become subject unto him, be, and abide in you forever.” (3 Nephi 5, Moroni 7, 8)
Moroni
“I have seen Jesus, and…he hath talked with me face to face, and…he told me in plain humility, even as a man telleth another in mine own language, concerning these things.” (Ether 12)
“I declare these things unto the fulfilling of the prophecies. And behold, they shall proceed forth out of the mouth of the everlasting God; and his word shall hiss forth from generation to generation. And God shall show unto you, that that which I have written is true.” (Moroni 10)
God the Father

Jesus Christ – The Son of God
“Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world….And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning.” (3 Nephi 11)
Truly, the Book of Mormon is ‘Another Testament of Jesus Christ’.
